In summer, the mountains with their deep-blue lakes, the warm summer evenings and the rustic mountain inn hospitality all entice you to engage in sporting activity or just to relax. Enjoy nature close up, explore the most beautiful corner of the region and let the breathtaking panorama take effect.
The Grossarl Valley is renowned for its wealth of mountain inns open to the public - around 40, where today, just as in olden times, butter and cheese are hand-made. Around 220 km of marked footpaths earned our valley the name "The Valley of the Alms".

The Grossarl Walking Badge in 7 stages
The hand-crafted walking badges make popular souvenirs. To receive a badge you have to complete a number of tours and prove a certain number of points,
which are achieved by walking to the predetermined destinations. A small fee is charged per badge.
